The salt marshes of Vie
Visit the Marais Salants de Vie to discover the work of the salt workers and taste the salt of Vie.
The old saltworks have resumed their activity and young salt workers are working the fleur de sel there.
There you will discover the bourrines, traditional houses with earth walls and reed roofs, the last precarious witnesses of the hard but original daily life of the men and women of the Marais Breton Vendéen.
All summer long, you are invited to discover the traditional way of life associated with salt collection.
Antoine Oger, the salt maker of the Marais de l’Etoile, will present his “sel de Vie”, his cooking salt and his fleur de sel.


Saint Gilles Croix de Vie

The Little Train
A walk for young and old.
Every day in July and August, Philippe takes you on board his little train to discover the corniche between Saint Gilles Croix de Vie and Saint Hilaire de Riez, to admire the jagged cliffs, small coves and Cinq Pineaux.
Philippe also offers a visit to the salt marshes, the night market of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie and the Sion market.

The Vélo-Rail
An original adventure in the heart of nature
Just 10 km from the campsite, enjoy an unusual experience with family or friends with the Vélo-Rail de Commequiers.
Pedal along a 10 km stretch of former railroad line between Commequiers and Coëx, through the hinterland of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, with its verdant landscapes, typical homes and viaducts over the river La Vie.
More fun than a tandem, more original than a bicycle, the rail bike combines discovery, gentle sport and shared pleasure.
